Call for Abstracts: Electronic Student/Resident Poster Competition

TOMA and the TOMA Foundation are pleased to announce the 2026 Student and Resident Electronic Poster Competition.

Osteopathic medical students and residents who are members of TOMA are invited to participate. The first/primary author must be an osteopathic medical student attending a COM/SOM located in Texas or an osteopathic intern, resident or fellow (training in Texas).

Posters will be showcased digitally during TOMA's 70th MidWinter Conference in Conroe, TX on Feb. 27–Mar. 1, 2026. 

This is an excellent opportunity to begin your medical research experience. Cash awards exist for each poster category. Applications to both case reports and original research can be found below.

Award Categories and Certificates

All presenters will receive a certificate of participation. Winners will be recognized on TOMA's website, as well as in a future publication of the Texas DO magazine.
  • Original Research: monetary awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
    • 1st place: $500
    • 2nd place: $250
    • 3rd place: $150
  • Case Report: monetary awards will be given to
    • Top medical student: $100
    • Top resident: $100

  • The deadline for submitting your abstract is October 12, 2025. View the criteria for submitting abstract(s) below.
  • Once accepted, poster submissions must be submitted electronically as a .pdf file no later than February 6, 2026.
