Call for Presentations: 70th Annual MidWinter Conference

The Texas Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA) is excited to be coming to the Houston area on Feb. 27–Mar. 1, 2026 for the first time for our 70th Annual MidWinter Conference.

We’re seeking dynamic presenters to share expertise, spark ideas and inspire colleagues in this milestone year. Contribute your knowledge to help drive innovation in osteopathic medicine. Also, friendly reminder that all chosen speakers receive a free conference registration (including CME credits), along with one night of lodging.

Please note: If you are a current medical student and want to submit a presentation, you must have a licensed doctor as your co-presenter for it to be considered. 

The deadline to submit your presentation proposal is October 12, 2025.

Criteria for Approval

Presenter(s) must be an Osteopathic physician (DO), MD or PhD and/or a certified specialist in their field. Topics must be evidence-based.

Presentation Proposal Requirements

1. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
2. Presentation Title
3. Session Description: description must accurately represent your session and will be included in the conference program
4. Learning Objective(s) (at least 3)
5. Core Competencies (select at least 1)
6. Professional Practice Gap and Educational Need
7. Short Bio
8. Headshot
Note: Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.

Policies

1. Presentations that market specific services or products will not be accepted.
2. TOMA reserves the right to withdraw a speaking opportunity to a speaker for failure to follow the policies outlined.
3. Proposals must be accompanied by a bio/resume/vita for each presenter and feature an accurate session description.
4. Speakers who are selected must submit session handouts (PDF) by the deadline.
5. TOMA intends to record all lectures so that physicians may access CME event content digitally. If you are not willing to allow recording of your presentation, do not submit a proposal.
6. An LCD projector, laptop, screen, wireless microphone and sound system will be provided in each session room. Additional audio-visual requirements must be submitted via the submission form for consideration. Requests are subject to approval by TOMA.
7. TOMA reserves the right to select any, or none, of the submissions it receives. A proposal may be outstanding but inconsistent with the program committee goals and objectives duplicate another session, etc.
8. TOMA reserves the right to change the agenda—including but not limited to the amount of time allotted to the speaker.
9. Travel, accommodations and meal expenses are the responsibility of all presenters.

Review Process

Proposals will be reviewed by the Conference Planning Committee and then notifications of acceptance/rejection will be sent.

Notification and Confirmation 

Final acceptance notification will be sent, via email in mid-November. Presenters need to reply to the notification email with their acceptance or declination ASAP.

Confirmed Presenters Obligations

During your presentation, provide EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL ONLY and abide by TOMA’s policies as outlined—including no specific marketing of any products or services.
