Prescription Medications for the Management of Obesity

Obesity has become a public health concern in the United States. Rates of overweight and obese people have been steadily increasing in both adults and children. Recent advances have occurred in treatment modalities for the management of obesity: lifestyle intervention, pharmacotherapy, and weight-loss procedures. Focus will be on the pharmacologic treatments shown to be effective for chronic management of obesity. Participants will learn how to analyze factors and select the most appropriate agent for individual patients.
