Auxiliary to the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association

Your ATOMA Auxiliary is Working to:

  • Provide financial assistance for the Impaired Physician;
  • Provide Scholarships, Student Loans and help in the Osteopathic Research Projects;
  • Assist TOMA in its public relations programs that are designed to assure continued growth, progress and respect for the osteopathic profession;
  • Create better understanding of osteopathic medicine by participating in public health programs in our communities and schools;
  • Studies legislation – at both state and federal levels – that affects the public health, and to take an active part in the legislative process, with our time, our money, and our votes;
  • Encourage participation of its members in community affair, thereby demonstrating the concern of the profession for the welfare of our neighbors;
  • Participate in career guidance in undergraduate schools through the dissemination of up-to-date information concerning osteopathic medicine;
  • Support TOMA’s educational programs that help to tell a positive, factual story about the osteopathic profession and its practitioners;
  • Assist in selection of scholarship applicants for the National Osteopathic Scholarship program;
  • Correlate activities of District Auxiliaries with ATOMA through encouragement and assistance;
  • Provide National AAOA support for nationwide humanitarian projects;
  • Triple ATOMA membership so that we will be three times as effective in our efforts on behalf of the osteopathic profession in Texas.

  • Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program
    Yellow Ribbon Program

Teens who have attempted suicide tell that they were so overwhelmed at the time of their crisis that they did not know what to say to ask for help! Yellow Ribbon Cards are a 'voice' for the teen when they can't find the words to say "I need help." The Yellow Ribbon Program is two-fold: Get cards to youth and to inform adults what they are.   • Ad Campaign

The A.A.O.A., in conjunction with the AOA, continues to place ads in Managed Care publications. Currently, the majority of responses received from these ads have been from Human Resource Managers and corporate managers responsible for selecting company insurance plans
